Privacy Policy

Today ("the app") is built to be private by design. The short version: your data stays on your device. We don't collect it, we can't see it, and we don't want it — with one optional exception you control: the worldwide leaderboard.

Data we collect

By default, none. There are no sign-ups, no analytics SDKs, no advertising trackers, and no third-party data sharing.

If you choose to join the worldwide leaderboard (optional, Today Pro), the app creates an anonymous player ID for your device and sends three things to our leaderboard database so other players can see where you rank: the username you pick, your task statistics (kills, dodges, K/D, streak), and your current rank emblem. No email, no name, no contacts, no location, no task contents — the text of your tasks never leaves your phone.

The leaderboard is hosted on Supabase (a database provider) in a single region. Your username and statistics are visible to anyone using the app's leaderboard. You can leave the leaderboard at any time from the Stats tab; leaving deletes your username and statistics from the database immediately. Deleting the app while joined leaves an anonymous, unlinked record that you can have removed by emailing us.

Where your data lives

Your tasks, streaks, statistics, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. Only the leaderboard summary described above is ever stored elsewhere, and only if you joined.

Reporting

Usernames on the leaderboard can be reported from within the app (press and hold a row). Reported names are reviewed and removed if they break the rules; repeat offenders lose leaderboard access.

Notifications

Reminders and urgent re-alerts are scheduled locally on your device through Apple's notification system. Notification content never leaves your device.

Purchases

Subscriptions (Today Pro) are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We receive no payment details, card numbers, or billing information — Apple handles all of it under the Apple Privacy Policy. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your device's Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect data from children. The leaderboard is optional, requires a paid subscription, and collects only a chosen username and task counts.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated first and the change will be clearly announced in the app before anything takes effect.
